FAKES IN THE WAGYU INDUSTRY

FAKES IN THE WAGYU INDUSTRY

Having been in Meat & Restaurant for over a decade, and traveled all over Japan since 1990, it is sad to say we’ve noticed sellers selling a lot of fakes.

Particularly with branded beef. We are often asked to check out different meats and immediately some do not look correct.

  • wrong color

  • wrong specification of size

  • homemade printed fake certificates

Certain farms in Japan are only processed in specific processing plants. So, if the plastic bag that contains the primal (ribeye, striploin) has a processing plant name that is halfway across the country, it’s immediately recognizable that this is not authentic.

We are certified by the Kobe council, Olive Beef, and Hokkaido Snow Beef, and continue to bring the very best of Japan to your doorstep. To us quality, consistency, taste, and authenticity are of paramount importance.

Thank you for your business and continued support.
